EDUCATION: Requires a BS degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years engineering support experience applicable to DFM/DFT or NPI. Minimum 1-year product test experience. PCBA troubleshooting experience at the component level an advantage. Must have English reading and writing skills and ability to work with limited direction. Cantonese and/or Mandarin reading, writing and verbal skills a plus. Experience in product movement to offshore CM facilities a plus. Knowledge, Experience and Training requirements

JOB DUTIES: This ODM/CDM Product Engineering position within our organization focuses on making product development and manufacturing a virtual entity. The ODM/CDM Product Engineer requires direct experience with SMT manufacturing support, coupled with strong PCBA test engineering background, complete with experiences in D.O.E., D.F.M, and D.F.T. This position requires concurrent-engineering practices focused on heavy interaction with design engineering, NPI process development and project management. This engineer will be responsible to improve quality, lead-time, and cycle time at the ECM partners. They will also have opportunity to reduce manufacturing and product costs as part of their daily function. Brings expertise in Lean Manufacturing concepts, teaches, trains on these concepts. Implements Design for Excellence Strategy. Does all this through both Alcatel design entities/contract manufactures as well as Outsourced Design & Manufacturing partners. Source of Supervision Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor Responsibilities " Accountable to improve overall product quality and ECM yields. Reviews yield reports and develops new reports to highlight & resolve ECM assembly issues. " Performs design for manufacturability and testability reviews focused on systematic improvements in design/product quality and manufacturability. " Positively impact product quality through FMEA tools. " Responsible to document and improve manufacturing readiness in new product introductions. " Supports development of producibility guidelines to document best manufacturing & test practices. " Utilizes statistical based techniques to highlight, summarize, and resolve failures trends. " Responsible to effectively influence ECM partners toward DFT/Lean Manufacturing principles. " Follows processes, procedures, policies, and company standards. " Provide sustaining Manufacturing Engineering support to CM. " Other duties as assigned. Accountabilities Works on assignments that are strategically important in nature where sound judgement and analysis are required. Normally receives minimal instruction of all new assignments. Performs work within established standards of production.
