December 6, 2006 – N Billerica, MA—Transition Automation, Inc. announces today the extended capability to “fine tune” an SMT Printer by adjusting the thickness of the company’s proprietary Permalex Edge Metal Squeegees. The new option is aptly named Permalex-3D.
With the continuing miniaturization of modern electronics and the use of thinner and more delicate stencils and substrates, customers are demanding more delicate squeegees, without compromising the high quality coating technology and base material strength and stability. This new product is made easy to specify by simply adding any thickness code to any existing squeegee part number. The available code sizes are: 0.006, 0.007, 0.008, 0.012, and 0.014. These codes directly represent the inch size thickness of the squeegee product being ordered, and may be used both for replacement blades for Transition Automation squeegee holders, OEM Holders, or for new Transition Automation holder and blade assemblies.
The new offering enables a new level of fine tuning to be achieved which balances the need for robust printing, high cycle durability without excessive pressure or wear of the precision stencils masks used in today’s microelectronics printing.
This coding structure continues along the same ergonomic ordering format as other codes currently available, such as “-SE” which stands for “-Sharp Edge” and “-WH” which stands for “-Whole Blade Permalex”.
